Here's how it works
Your certificate program consists of courses designed to take you step-by-step toward understanding all the essential elements of Business Management. Your first course will be sent to you as soon as your enrollment has been accepted. Other courses will follow as you complete your exams, so that you will always have study materials to work with.
Computer Specifications
You will need access to a Microsoft® Windows®-based computer running Windows XP® or later and high-speed Internet in order to complete your program with Penn Foster.
Note: Graduates of this program earn 12 college credits toward an Undergraduate Certificate or Associate of Science Degree in Business Management at Penn Foster College.
This outline covers all the courses required for your study-at-home certificate program. You complete the following courses in the order indicated:
BUS101 Introduction to Business
Business in a global environment; starting and growing a business; human resources; marketing; information and technology; finances.
BUS110 Principles of Management
The business environment; planning; organizing; leading and controlling.
MAT106 Math for Business and Finance
Percentages; discounts; interest; present worth; sinking funds; installment buying; pricing; depreciation; investments; insurance; use of symbols and their applications, equations and formulas; importance of statistics.
ENG121 Business English
Business letters, forms, client records, and memos; organization, grammar, punctuation, and sentence and paragraph construction; coherent paragraphs, well-organized documents, and purpose-focused materials; accurate, attractive, and effective final copies.

Online Library and Librarian
Students in Penn Foster Career School have access to an online library for use during their studies. Students can use this library to do the required research in the courses they complete or can use it for general reference and links to valuable resources. The library contains helpful research assistance, articles, databases, books, and Web links. A librarian is available to answer questions on general research-related topics via email and assist students in research activities during their studies with Penn Foster Career School.
