You will need access to a Microsoft® Windows®-based computer running Windows® XP or later, high-speed Internet and an e-mail account to complete your program with Penn Foster.

GRD110 - Introduction to Graphic Design
Introduction to Graphic Design covers the basic principles, elements, and mediums of design through the concept, skills, and tools involved in developing a design piece through the applications of these concepts to visual and communication processes. This course also covers industry terminology, file types, balance, contrast, direction, economy, emphasis, proportion, rhythm, and unity as it relates to graphic design creations.

GRD115 - Graphic Design and Production (Illustrator®)
This course places emphasis on the conceptualization of computer illustration techniques using Illustrator® and its implementation in page layout. Students complete a series of projects using Adobe® Illustrator® to develop proficiency in print and web-based applications.

Online Library and Librarian
Students in Penn Foster Career School have access to an online library for use during their studies. Students can use this library to do the required research in the courses they complete or can use it for general reference and links to valuable resources. The library contains helpful research assistance, articles, databases, books, and Web links. A librarian is available to answer questions on general research-related topics via email and to assist students in research activities during their studies with Penn Foster Career School.
