Program Outline

Instruction Sets
Your program consists of seven Instruction Sets designed to take you step-by-step through the techniques and skills you'll need when speaking the Spanish language.

Here's how it works
Your first Instruction Set will be sent immediately after your enrollment has been accepted. Other Instruction Sets will follow as you complete your exams, so that you will always have training materials to work with. Here is an overview of what you'll learn and the order in which you'll receive your lessons:

Instruction Set 1

Developing a study plan; clues which indicate gender; word breaks in Spanish sentences; indicating possession; practicing the cardinal numbers; beginning to acquire an active vocabulary; asking questions in Spanish; developing fluency with vocabulary and grammar introduced thus far.

Supplement: Learner's Guide

Instruction Set 2

Increasing active vocabulary; generating sentences using active and new vocabulary; using ser and estar correctly; recognizing Spanish consonants; using object pronouns correctly; using hay correctly; the Spanish equivalent of any number from 1-9999.

Supplement: "Letters to Ben"

Instruction Set 3

Using era and eran correctly; creating "mini-story" plots using active vocabulary; using the present tense forms of regular verbs; increasing active vocabulary; recalling and reciting questions and answers using pictographs.

Instruction Set 4

Placing object pronouns correctly in sentences; increasing active vocabulary; recognizing reflexive pronouns; comprehending the meaning of the present, preterit; imperfect, and present perfect tenses; using new vocabulary to create "mini-stories."

Instruction Set 5

Listening to and reading stories and dialogues to improve pronunciation and comprehension; using the preterit, imperfect, and present perfect tenses correctly; recognizing verb forms of seven simple verb tenses.

Instruction Set 6

Listening to and reading stories and dialogues to improve comprehension; forming the past participle of regular verbs; memorizing the past participles of at least eleven irregular verbs; increasing active vocabulary; recognizing compound tenses.

Online Library and Librarian
Students in Penn Foster Career School have access to an online library for use during their studies. Students can use this library to do the required research in the courses they complete or can use it for general reference and links to valuable resources. The library contains helpful research assistance, articles, databases, books, and Web links. A librarian is available to answer questions on general research-related topics via email and assist students in research activities during their studies with Penn Foster Career School.
