WILL CELEBRATE ITS HISTORY AND COMMITMENT
TO THE SCRANTON COMMUNITY IN A REDEDICATION CEREMONY

Scranton, PA, September 13, 2007 – For more than 117 years, Penn Foster Career School (originally ICS, International Correspondence School) has been a fixture in the city of Scranton, Pennsylvania. With more than 200,000 active students and more than 500 employees, Penn Foster is one of the world’s largest online educators.

 

On September 27th, Penn Foster will be celebrating 50 years at its 925 Oak Street address by unveiling a new bronze cornerstone noting the anniversary. In addition, Stuart Udell, CEO of Penn Foster, will announce Penn Foster’s ongoing commitment to keeping a presence in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

As part of the ceremony, Mr. Udell will be presented with a proclamation by the Lackawanna County Commissioners declaring September 27, 2007, as Penn Foster Day.

Expected to be in attendance at this event are the Mayor of Scranton Chris Doherty, Lackawanna County Commissioners Robert Cordaro and AJ Munchak, Deputy State Director Kevin Washo from Senator Casey’s office, Jane Gallucci the Immediate Past President of the National School Boards Association, members of the Scranton Chamber of Commerce, and members of the media.
