Mansfield University, A.A. Liberal Studies
I started working at Penn Foster in March 2012, and I have been a part of the Veterinary Academy since August of the same year. I had twin girls in March of 2014 and then came to the Education Department to be a TA for the Vet Academy in July of 2014.
What are some things you did before joining the Penn Foster team?
I grew up next to a dairy farm in Canton, PA, and I started milking cows and other various chores during high school. I received a scuba diving certification from Lycoming College in Williamsport during my senior year.
What are some of your goals — personal and/or professional?
I am currently a Vet Assistant student and I intend to complete the course and take the AVA exam before moving back into the Vet Tech program here at PF. I also have interest in possibly taking the Dog Obedience course here as I intend to train a show dog and get into local dog shows. This is an interest I have had since I was a child. I have also very recently become interested in taking a Biomedical Sciences program at one of the local schools!
What is one piece of advice you'd like to give to students?
Don’t procrastinate! Try to make yourself do something at least once every other day. Once you get into the habit of doing your school work, it will get easier. And don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.
Do you have any pets? If so, what kinds?
2 Cats; one tuxedo cat and one yellow cat (Dr. Jim’s favorite kind of cats are the yellow ones!)
