Nancy Moretti began working as the Early Childhood Department Chair in September of 2013. Nancy came to us with more than 25 years of experience working in the field of early care and education. She has worked as a teacher assistant, lead teacher, head teacher, director, and executive director in the childcare industry, and is the owner of Just For Kids Early Childhood Learning Center in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
Emerging from her passion of training and working with faculty, she began teaching in higher education in April of 2006. Over the years, she has served as an adjunct as well as a full time professor. This experience has been rewarding!
Nancy is a RI certified early childhood educator, a PA Keys certified higher education instructor, and a Professional Development Specialist for the Council for Professional Recognition.
What types of volunteer experiences have you had?
I serve as a peer reviewer for NAEYC’s Annual Conference Proposals and serve as a peer reviewer for NAEYC - NCATE higher education accreditations. I have also served as a CDA Advisor and Professional Development Specialist. I volunteer as a presenter at many local and national conferences.
Where is the most interesting place you’ve traveled?
I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places. My most interesting travel experience was a cruise that I took from Spain to Italy and France.
What is one thing you could not live without?
This is a hard one... I can’t pick just one... I need my three –c’s and could not live without my computer, cellphone and at least one cup of coffee.
