Pine Hill resident Bradford Jones was named the Penn Foster Distance Education and Training Council 2013 Outstanding graduate.
Penn Foster, a career-focused distance and blended learning center, selected jones from more than 90 student applicants. Students were judged based upon their academic achievement and their contributions to their chosen fields.
For Jones, this recognition is a chance to reflect on moving forward from a troubled past.
During a childhood that involved moving from foster home to foster home, Jones did not get a proper education.
He took his education into his own hands when he entered Penn Foster High School and graduated in August.
Jones, 27, is now enrolled in Penn Foster's Certified Personal Trainer program.
