SCRANTON (July 9, 2013) — Penn Foster, a leader in career-focused online and blended education designed to address the skills gap in America, today announced its Chief Learning Officer, Ray McNulty, will lead a discussion for New England education tech entrepreneurs. The Boston event, which is hosted by LearnLaunch, a non-profit organization driving the growth of learning and education technology companies, will take place on July 9, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST. During the event, titled “Conversation with a Disruptor,” McNulty will keynote a session on how startups can partner with online educators to integrate content and technology into the online learning environment.

As Penn Foster’s Chief Learning Officer, McNulty focuses on the educational platform and content provided to students in all programs at Penn Foster. Prior to joining Penn Foster, McNulty was the president of the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE). He also served as a senior fellow at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he worked with leading educators around the country on improving high school education. McNulty has worked in education since 1973, holding teaching, principal and superintendent positions in Vermont. From 2001-03, he also served as Vermont's education commissioner. Additionally, he is the author of It's Not Us Against Them -- Creating the Schools We Need, which was published in 2009.
