Over 2,000 schools consider ACE credit recommendations for transfer to their degree programs. Student Achievement

Penn Foster focuses on providing educational programs and pathways that empower self-motivated, independent learners to acquire the skills and competencies needed for successful entry into their chosen technical and professional fields. Penn Foster monitors achievement and application of competencies through the review of student performance data across multiple choice assessments, completion of capstone project(s), projects, and/or final comprehensive exams and externships. Student achievement reflects the mastery of course and program outcomes for each area of study and forms the basis for continuous improvement in advancing student learning and enhancing program/course offerings. Penn Foster offers a variety of non-degree and degree courses and programs to meet the needs of a growing adult population who seek flexible and affordable educational pathways. As each individual student is unique so are the levels of achievement based on the demonstration of the knowledge, skills, and abilities gained in the chosen course or program. Specific Penn Foster programs prepare students to sit for industry certification exams, graduate performance on these exams are provided below:

  • In 2018, 71.4% of the graduates from our A.S. Degree in Veterinary Technician passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) on the first attempt.
  • In 2016, four (4) graduates completed applications for their CDA Credential, and four (4) earned the Credential, with 100% success.
  • In 2017, twelve (12) graduates applied, and twelve (12) earned the Credential, with 100% success.
  • In 2018, fourteen (14) graduates applied, and fourteen (14) earned the Credential, with 100% success.
  • Thus far In 2019, two (2) graduates applied, and two (2) earned the Credential, with 100% success.
  • Overall since 2016, thirty-two (32) graduates applied for and earned their CDA Credentials, with a success rate of 100%.
  • Pharmacy Technician Professional graduate performance on national exams as of December 14, 2020:
    • PTCB - 83% Pass Rate
    • NHA - 63% Pass Rate
