"I have always wanted to work in the animal field. I did not have the opportunity when I was younger due to a lack of programs where I grew up. I was working in retail as a small business manager when my kids graduated high school and wanted to pursue a career in the animal field. I was very dissatisfied working at my current job of 12 years. One night I started researching possible jobs I might want to look into and came across the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program. I researched the career and decided this was the field I really wanted to study. After discussing the program with my husband and having him say he would support me at what ever direction I chose.
