Shawna Burke is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) and Veterinary Technologist (B.S.VT). She has instructed at veterinary hospitals while working in veterinary ICUs and surgical suites since 2007, and has created learning and development programs in multi-doctor veterinary practices. She has also written and implemented medical protocols, thanks to extensive background experience in small animal emergency and critical care medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, and high-risk anesthesia. Shawna was awarded two military coins for sharing her veterinary expertise with the Nebraska National Guard Aviation Medical team and mobile combat medics, showing how to assess and stabilize Military Working Dogs in battle. In 2019, she was voted Outstanding Licensed Veterinary Technician of the year by her colleagues at the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association.
Shawna holds an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technician at Vatterott College and Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
