AutoCAD® Online Certificate Curriculum

Penn Foster’s online AutoCAD® Certificate Program consists of courses that will cover the basic operations of AutoCAD®. Upon successful completion of the program, students will have learned to be able to operate the basic functions of AutoCAD®, including opening and saving drawings and using help menus, dialog boxes, and software features associated with basic drafting.

 

Students will also learn to construct basic and complex geometric objects using the software and to insert various lines and text. They will learn proper dimensioning techniques and how to configure their drawings for plotting. In addition students will learn hatching commands, how to use AutoCAD® Design Center, and the basics of 3-D drawing.

 

Students enrolling in the program should possess a solid background in a Windows®-based PC environment and should also have an educational or work-related background in basic drafting.

With Penn Foster, you can learn at whatever pace works best for you. Some learners will be more comfortable moving faster, and dedicating more time, and the fast track estimate will apply to them. The average track will apply to most learners who can dedicate a few hours per week to completing their coursework. The estimated completion times are based on completion times for learners enrolled in this program from May 2021 - April 2022, excluding withdrawals.
