Frequently Asked Questions

What are Penn Foster Texts?
Penn Foster has created a program whereby you can receive text alerts on a designated mobile device. These text alerts are intended to assist you by (1) providing you with information you requested from us, such as information about your applications and enrollments in our programs; (2) providing updates or other information regarding your transactions with us, including providing information about financial requirements associated with your Penn Foster enrollment; (3) providing you with important information related to your academic progress; and/or (4) responding to other inquiries regarding your relationship with Penn Foster.

Do I have to register for this service?
Penn Foster may text you upon enrollment, to confirm you would like to participate in the text messaging program. You may update your subscription to Penn Foster Texts via the “How to Opt-In” and “How to Opt-Out” descriptions noted above.

How many text alerts will I receive?
The message frequency will vary by student depending on the activity on your account and how you use our services (e.g. whether you reply with HELP, the number of classes you enroll in with Penn Foster). Receipt of each Penn Foster text message may be delayed or prevented by factors outside of our control. Neither we, nor our affiliates, will be liable for losses or damages arising from (a) non-delivery, delayed delivery, or misdirected delivery of a Penn Foster text message; (b) inaccurate or incomplete content in a Penn Foster text message; or (c) your use or reliance on the contents of any Penn Foster text message for any purposes.

Will these text alerts cost me anything?
Penn Foster does not charge for this service. However, message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier or other applicable provider.

Which mobile carriers can receive Penn Foster Texts?
Penn Foster Texts are currently supported on all U.S. carriers. The supporting mobile carriers may change without notice, and the particular Penn Foster Texts program you join, including those operated through a different number, may be limited to specific carriers. Penn Foster and the mobile carriers (for example, T-Mobile) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Penn Foster Texts may not be compatible with all cell phone models.
