Erica Getts
Librarian and Information Literacy Instructor, MLIS
Erica is an experienced librarian and educator who is passionate about helping students. She began her career managing a high school library media center, where she taught information literacy, managed the library collection, and partnered with teachers to create a welcoming learning environment. After earning her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Maryland, College Park, Erica expanded her work into academic libraries, primarily within distance education settings. At Penn Foster, she has supported students in a variety of ways, including answering reference questions across multiple formats, creating learning materials, collaborating on course development, teaching AI literacies, and researching and applying accessibility best practices.
Erica enjoys connecting with students and helping them feel supported as they learn. She is committed to making information approachable, useful, and empowering for every learner.
